Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which makes high-quality images obtainable without degrading the image quality by having a transferring step free of the deterioration in the images and an image forming apparatus using the image forming method. SOLUTION: The image forming method has a latent image forming step of forming a latent image on a photoreceptor 1, a developing step of developing the latent image, a transferring step of transferring the image by using a transfer roller 52 brought into pressurized contact with the photoreceptor 1 and a fixing step of fixing toners by a heat roller 71, in which the transferring process step simultaneously performs transfer and primary fixing by applying heat and pressure to the toners and transfer paper by means of a transfer roller 52 and the fixing step performs secondary fixing to fix again the transfer paper subjected to the primary fixing and separated from the photoreceptor 1. The developing roller uses a contactless developing system and the transferring step exerts pressure of 10 to 100 N/cm2between the transfer roller 52 and the photoreceptor, in which the temperature to be applied to the transfer paper ranges from the glass transition temperature to softening temperature of the toners.
