PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxial stretching machine for a sheet-like material which can give a high-quality product by improving the lubricity and the cooling performance of a clip apparatus and its guide rail portion. SOLUTION: In the biaxial stretching machine equipped with a couplet of endless guide rails 1 disposed symmetrically in relation to the center line of the running path of a plastic film W to be drawn and a group of clip devices 10 so supported on these endless guide rails 1 that each may be capable of travelling, each clip equipment 10 of the group of the clip devices 10 is linked by a roller chain 18 and driven by a sprocket 2 and in addition provided each with a first lubricating system that supplies a lubricating oil between the sliding surface of a roller 16 of the above roller chain 18 and that of a ring pin 14 and with a second lubricating system of a nozzle 30 or the like that sprays a lubricating oil on the tooth surface of the sprocket 2 in order to lubricate the gap of the sliding surfaces of the roller 16 of the roller chain 18 and the sprocket 2.
