SOLUTION: The reverse roll coating method for a coating liquid containing a scalelike filler provides excellent designability of the coating liquid and has such characteristics that the peripheral speed u1 of an applicator roll and the speed u2 of a steel band passing through satisfy the expression: (¾u1¾-¾u2¾)/u2 ≥ 0.1 and that the peripheral speed u3 of a pick up roll and u1 satisfy the expression: u3/u1 ≤ 0.8.
