Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic endoscope which can easily and surely pierce a piercing needle in a target region even when the target region is a hard tissue, or the like. SOLUTION: An insertion part 2 of the ultrasonic endoscope 1 is constituted by connecting a distal end part body 6, a curved part 7, and a flexible tube part 8 from the distal end side in order. An electromagnet 10 is provided at a proximal location to the curved part 7 on the distal end side of the flexible tube part 8. Under a state wherein a curved knob of the ultrasonic endoscope 1 is stopped, the curved part 7 hardly warps. When the ultrasonic endoscope 1 is used, a magnetic force generating device 15 arranged on the outside of the body of a patient is applied, and at the same time, an electric current is made to flow on the electromagnet 10. Thus, a location being proximal to the curved part 7 on the distal end side of the flexible tube part 8 is fixed to the luminal walls 22 of the tracheae 21 by being attracted by the magnetic force. Therefore, when the piercing needle 14 is pierced to the target region in a celom using the ultrasonic endoscope 1, the inserting part 2 of the ultrasonic endoscope 1 is prevented from warping by the reaction of the piercing.
