Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect a reception pulse signal position and spread PN sequence phase at a high speed with a comparatively small circuit configuration by providing a RAKE receiver for performing path diversity by using pulse modulation in combination with direct spread spectrum. SOLUTION: Generators are diverted from RAKE fingers 221-223 to a pulse generator and an PN generator required for searching, and a plurality of pulse positions are simultaneously detected by using a replica generator 409 for generating a pulse and a PN sequence capable of overlapping a pulse. When a plurality of pulse position candidates to be allocated to the RAKE fingers are detected, synchronization acquisition is performed by using a plurality of tracking groups (TTL) 208 of the RAKE receiver. When search must be performed at the time of RAKE reception operation, a RAKE finger having the minimum demodulation power is stopped, and a pulse generator and a PN generator thereof are allocated to searching.
