Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out more accurate tilt correction in an optical disk device which measures tilt at each position in the radial direction of a disk to store it, and corrects the tilt based on the tilts stored during recording/playing. SOLUTION: A plurality of tilt detection positions for detecting tilt before recording/playing are preset so that the interval of the tilt detection positions in the radial direction of an optical disk 1 is gradually narrowed from the inner peripheral side to the outer peripheral side of the optical disk 1. When tilt is detected before recording/reproducing, tilt is detected at each tilt detection position, and the tilt correction value corresponding to the tilt detection position is stored in a memory 12.
