Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein microfocusing by a front lens focus group can not be made since the front lens focus group is fixed during autofocusing. SOLUTION: The zoom lens system has a variable magnification group V which performs variable magnification by moving in an optical axis direction, an object side focus group F1 which is arranged nearer the objects side than the variable magnification group and performs focusing by moving in the optical axis direction, an image side focus group F2 which is arranged nearer the image side than the variable magnification group and performs focusing by moving in the optical axis direction, and a control means 12 which perform autofocus control by driving the image side focus group when a autofocus mode is set. The driving by the manual operation of the object side focus group is made possible when the autofocus mode is set. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
