Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generator capable of simply and quickly controlling output power with quick responsiveness even when hydrocarbon fuel like natural gas or gasoline is used. SOLUTION: The generator comprises an external reforming device 2 having a reforming part 7 through which fuel gas is passed, and an generating cell 13 to which the reformed fuel gas passed through the reforming part 7 of the external reforming device 2 is supplied. An air heat exchanging part 8, exchanging heat between the reforming part 7 and itself by introducing air from a compressor 5 and supplying the air to a fuel cell stack 3, is arranged to the external reforming device 2, and an exhaust fuel burning part 15, making incompletely burned fuel gas not used at the generating cell 13 completely burn by supplying fresh air from the compressor 5, is installed at the fuel cell stack 3.
