Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic yarn having performances holding a stretched state, scarcely causing the so-called slipping in and usable for applications, etc., where weaving is difficult in a state of a bare yarn without being converted into a covered yarn. SOLUTION: The elastic yarn is obtained by compounding a polyurethane polymer solution with a polymer solution soluble in a solvent for the polyurethane polymer and insoluble in water in a high mixing ratio of 15-50 wt.% based on the weight of the elastic yarn. The elastic recovery ratio for the initial stretch is low without returning to the length before stretching to improve and stabilize the elastic recovery ratio when repeating the stretch recovery. Thereby, the polyurethane elastic yarn is obtained. Any of an acrylic resin polymer, an acrylonitrile polymer and acetylcellulose are used as the polymer soluble in the solvent for the polyurethane polymer and insoluble in water.
