Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and device of a color selection electrode of a color cathode-ray tube giving a tensile force profile with high accuracy without any distortion to a color selection electrode material and being suitable for practical use with excellent productivity. SOLUTION: At each of plural pairs of load points arranged in a longitudinal direction of a pair of frame members facing each other, firstly a relational expression between an incremental of a force applied to the frame members and an amount of displacement of moving member applying a force to the load point through an elastic member, is obtained. Secondly an amount of control displacement of the moving member, where the force applied to the load point becomes a desired value, is calculated from the relational expression. The moving member is displaced based on the resulted amount of control displacement. With this state, the color selection electrode material is welded to the frame member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
