Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the production and collection efficiency of a target compound and recovery of a raw material compound when epoxidizing cyclododecatriene (CDT) by bringing the CDT into contact with hydrogen peroxide to produce epoxycyclododecadiene (ECD"). SOLUTION: A phenol compound, e.g. 4-t-butylcatechol and 2,6-di-t-butyl-p-cresol, preferably in a proportion of 0.1 ppm to 0.1 wt.% based on the amount of the CDT is contained in the reaction system when epoxidizing the CDT with the hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalyst containing a tungsten compound, a quaternary onium compound and a phosphoric acid compound.
