Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallic porous material which can simply be produced at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing the metallic porous material, is composed of a molten metal preparing process for preparing the molten metal mixed with oxide mixing the oxide (shaved waste etc.) accompanied with absorbing gas in the molten metal, a filling process for filling the molten metal mixed with the oxide into a cavity in a mold and a solidifying process for cooling and solidifying this molten metal mixed with the oxide, developing pores with foaming of the absorbing gas in this cavity by making the molten metal mixed with the oxide into the reduced pressure atmosphere at least during the filling process or after the filling process.
