Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly efficiently and simply isolating a G-protein coupled receptor gene, and to provide a new G-protein coupled receptor gene. SOLUTION: This method for isolating the G-protein coupled receptor gene is characterized by comprising the following steps: (a) a step for designing a primer on the basis of the sequence information of a known G-protein coupled receptor gene or its peripheral region or on the basis of the sequence information of an estimated G-protein coupled receptor gene, (b) a step for performing an amplification reaction using the above-described designed primer and using as a template a cDNA library originated from a tissue except a tissue expressing the G-protein coupled receptor, and (c) a step for confirming whether the cloned gene has or does not have a function as the G-protein coupled receptor.
