SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery equipped with a positive electrode, a negative electrode provided with a mixture layer containing the negative electrode active material, and the nonaqueous electrolyte, is characterized in that the negative electrode active material is an alloy containing 5 to 25 mass % nickel and 75 to 95 mass % tin.
