Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent clogging of a filter when ink collected through recovery of ink ejection or recovery of forced suction is reused by detecting the replacing timing of the filter for removing impurities from the collected ink and informing a user of the detected replacing timing. SOLUTION: Total quantity of collected ink is calculated by integrating the number of times of recovering ejection and the number of times of recovering forced suction and then it is compared with a preset useful quantity of ink of the filter. If the collected quantity≥durable quantity of ink, replacement of the filter is urged by lighting an LED thus preventing clogging of the filter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
