Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine that increases an electric power saving effect by keeping a standby state as long as possible without repeatedly starting the machine due to printing when a fax is received during a user's absence. SOLUTION: This facsimile machine is provided with an operating means 80 for switchingly setting a presence/absence mode, a storing means 50 for storing received image data, and a signal processing means 1 for storing image data in the storing means 50 without printing the received image when the image data are received in the absence mode.
