Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic search unit which is simply be connected with ultrasonic diagnostic equipment without physically remodeling the ultrasonic diagnostic equipment even when the structure of a rocking mechanism is different. SOLUTION: This search unit is provided with: an acoustic element 101 for mutually converting an electric signal and an ultrasonic wave; the rocking mechanism 102 for rocking the acoustic element; and a connector 106 for being connected with the ultrasonic diagnostic equipment. The connector incorporates a controller 107 for controlling the rocking mechanism. Thus, it is possible to constitute a controller suited to each ultrasonic diagnostic equipment, and the ultrasonic diagnostic equipment can control rocking of the ultrasonic search unit by only giving a command to the controller.
