Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pressure determining apparatus for precisely determining blood pressure at a prescribed site of a living body such as an upper arm, a neck. SOLUTION: An upper arm average blood pressure value estimation means 96 calculates an upper arm average blood pressure value MEAN from the formula 2, f-d:e-d=SYS-DIA:MEAN-DIA, by using: a minimum value (d), an area centroid value (e) and a maximum value (f) of an upper arm pulse wave (wb) detected from a cuff 12; and an upper arm lowest blood pressure value DIA and an upper arm highest blood pressure value SYS determined by an upper arm blood pressure determining means 92. The upper arm average blood pressure value MEAN can be used as a neck average blood pressure value, and the upper arm lowest blood pressure value DIA can be used as a neck lowest blood pressure value. A neck highest blood pressure value estimation means 100 calculates a neck highest blood pressure value from a relation similar to the formula 2 by using: a minimum value (a), an area centroid value (b) and a maximum value (c) of a carotid pulse (wc) detected by a pressure pulse wave sensor 54; and the upper arm average blood pressure value MEAN and the upper arm lowest blood pressure value DIA.
