Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large output-type discharge lamp in which increase of input current to the discharge lamp is made possible without accompanying large-sizing of the discharge lamp and its peripheral equipment. SOLUTION: This discharge lamp is characterized in that a pair of electrodes 2, 3 are arranged opposed to each other inside an arc tube 10, and at least one electrode is constituted comprising the electrode body 20 in which a closed space is formed inside and a heat conductor M sealed in this closed space, and that this heat conductor M is composed of a metal having a coefficient of thermal conductivity higher than that of the metal constituting the electrode body 20.
