Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond-coated end mill which easily machines a hard-to-cut material having high hardness and is capable of carrying out machining of MMC(a metal-matrix composite material) or the like. SOLUTION: The diamond-coated end mill has diamond-coated layers which are formed respectively at least on an edge 5 of an end cutting blade 3 and an edge 5 of a peripheral blade 4 of a cemented carbide end mill1 1. A rake angle α of the edge of the peripheral blade is of ≥-10°and ≤+10°, and a torsion angle θ of the edge of the peripheral blade is of ≥40° and ≤60°. The number of the edges of the peripheral blade is of ≥ 4 and ≤12 in the diamond-coated end mill. The diamond-coated layer has surface roughness Rz of ≤2μm and thickness of ≥10 and ≤30μm.
