SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display element having the spacer 5 and a liquid crystal material 6 encapsulated in a space formed by two substrates and a sealing material, light shielding properties are incorporated into the spacer 5 and the dispersion density of the spacer is specified to be ≥100,000 pieces/cm2.
