Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form monodisperse spherical microparticles even under reaction conditions in which monodisperse spherical particles can not be heretofore formed due to e.g. the agglomeration of particles in producing spherical polyorganosilsesquioxane microparticles by hydrolytically condensing an organotrialkoxysilane and/or a partial hydrolyzate thereof in a reaction solution. SOLUTION: In adding an organotrialkoxysilane and/or a partial hydrolyzate thereof to a reaction solution, a polymeric dispersant exemplified by polyvinyl alcohol is present in the reaction solution.
