PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color conversion device which can provide suitable high-quality color-converted images for various input images under different producing conditions. SOLUTION: An average luminance calculating means 2 calculates the average luminance of input images, and a color-converted region determining means 3 determines a color-converted region D to adapt to the value of this average luminance. Based on the average luminance of the input images, a pre-conversion reference color determining means 4 and a post-conversion reference color determining means 5 determine the reference colors before and after conversion. By a color conversion means 6 into which these average luminance, color- converted region D and pre- and post-conversion reference colors are input, an input color is color-converted according to the distance between the input color and the boundary between the reference colors and the color-converted region D while setting the coefficient w representing the weighting of the conversion quantity.
