Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep display balance between display of a message and display of another game screen by making size of a message-displaying window variable. SOLUTION: Respective players exchange the messages between a plurality of video game devices connected to a game server device via a network to make a game progress. The messages inputted by the respective players are collected to the game server device and are distributed to the respective video game devices. On a display screen 122 of each the video game device, a chat window 350 for displaying the messages exchanged by the players is displayed in addition to the game screen including characters 310, 321-324 or a field 300 of the game. The chat window 350 is sequentially enlarged to a set maximum line number when a new message is distributed from the game server device, and is sequentially reduced to a set minimum line number when a prescribed time elapses or when the player executes specific operation.
