Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system for effectively and flexibly managing a document file. SOLUTION: A job 502 is generated in response to a command for generating the job including a plurality of steps from a beginning to an end. Each user (X, Y, or Z) displays a list of the generated jobs and selects one of the displayed jobs on the list. The selected job can be transferred to another information processing apparatus, for example, from X to Y, and Y to Z. When transferring the job, the system is controlled so as to optionally select between a transfer for transferring to a next step of the job such as from a step A to a step B, and a transfer for transferring within the same step such as from X to P.
