Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal gasket for easily adjusting a bearing pressure around a cylinder hole to an adequate uniform bearing pressure with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: In the metal gasket 1 comprising a first gasket constituting plate 10 interposed substantially entirely over joining surfaces between a cylinder block and a cylinder head, and a second gasket constituting plate 20 interposed only around the cylinder hole of the joining surfaces, having a bore opening part 20 so as to surround the cylinder hole, and integrally connecting the gasket constituting plates 10 and 20 to each other, a thick-walled held part 21 to be pressed and held between the cylinder head and the cylinder block is provided at a position to surround the bore opening part 22, and the distance L between an outer edge 21a of the held part 21 and a center P of the bore opening part 22 is set to be small at least in the vicinity of a bolt passing hole 13 for a head bolt for fixing the cylinder head.
