Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing surge of a fluid machine that prevents surging corresponding to the change of characteristics caused by the rotating speed fluctuation of a driven shaft of the fluid machine and the suction temperature fluctuation of a fluid sucked into the fluid machine. SOLUTION: A surge prevention curve SL1 comprising an isoentropic head and the suction volumetric flow of the fluid sucked into the fluid machine 1, is set beforehand corresponding to a prescribed reference rotating speed Ns, and the suction volumetric flow FI and rotating speed SI of the fluid machine 1 are measured to compute the isoentropic head H of the fluid machine 1. The measured suction volumetric flow FI and computed isoentropic head H are corrected with the rotating speed SI of the fluid machine 1 to compute the corrected suction volumetric flow Qs and corrected isoentropic head Hs corresponding to the reference rotating speed Ns. The computed result is compared with the value of the surge prevention curve SL1 to prevent surging of the fluid machine 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
