Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a simple and compact device capable of utilizing in various fields with ease a high-temperature gas which could not be produced but by a large-scale device. SOLUTION: By adopting a metal mesh as a metal resistive element for a heating element 1 and directly heating it by electricity and making it contacted with gas in a high temperature, a high temperature gas can be produced. By directly heating the metal resistive element to make the heating element in direct contact with the gas, a gas of a higher temperature can be produced than with conventional heating devices. Further, by making it in a metal mesh shape, a surface area of the heating element gets larger to improve heat exchange efficiency. As the gas is made to pass through a wire mesh network for several times, a turbulence effect can be expected, enabling to easily produce a high-temperature gas. Moreover, by forming an electric heater by a direct electricity conduction, the device can be made simple and compact with a fewer number of component parts. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
