Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for surface-finishing metal powder sintered parts by which surface roughness can be reduced and smooth surface can be formed. SOLUTION: A layer of metal powder is sintered by irradiating the prescribed portion of the layer with a laser beam to form a sintered layer 6a. The top of the sintered layer 6a is coated with a layer of the metal powder and sintering is performed by irradiating the prescribed portion of the metal powder with a laser beam to form a sintered layer 6b integrated with the lower sintered layer 6a. These steps are repeated to manufacture the metal powder sintered parts A in which a plurality of sintered layers 6a, 6b, 6c,... are laminated and integrated with each other. In this case, after or during the manufacture of the metal powder sintered parts A, the respective stepped parts 20 of the end edges of the sintered layers 6a, 6b, 6c,... forming the surface of the sintered parts A are removed.
