Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate manufacturing of defective parts by easily controlling a dimension of a through-hole on a work formed by wire electrical discharge machining to a final target dimension or an allowable final dimension. SOLUTION: When predetermined machining times, machining quantity or an interim target dimension is attained, electrical discharge machining automatically stops and an actual dimension measuring means operates Step 1 to linearly transfer a fixing stand or a wire electrode from the X-axis direction to the Y-axis direction to measure an actual measurement value of a through-hole dimension based on a distance for the wire electrode to touch a through-hole inner wall surface; Step 2 to find deviation between the actual measurement value and the final target dimension or the allowable final dimension to detect necessity for re-machining based on the deviation; Step 3 return the work by re-machining to the step 1 if re-machining is necessary.
