Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce mechanical vibration at the time of compressor operation and to make the compressor small and light weight by minimizing the dimension and weight of a driving part. SOLUTION: A linear motor 12 contains a movable element core 48 connected to a piston 13 of the compressor 10, a permanent magnet 52 arranged near the movable element core 48, a coil 56 arranged outside of an airtight container accommodating the piston 13, the movable element core 48 and the permanent magnet 52, and a stator magnetic poles 60R, 60L and yokes 62, 64 and 66 for feeding flux generated in the coil 56 into the permanent magnet 52 through the movable element core 48. The compressor 10 is driven by the linear motor 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
