Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving device that is reduced in size and improved in the reliability of obstruction detection. SOLUTION: The moving device comprises traveling means 2 and 3 for moving a body 1, obstruction detecting means 7 for detecting an obstruction around the body, and a movement controlling means 6 for controlling the traveling means to control the movement of the body. The obstruction detecting means 7 uses an optical sensor 14. In front of a light emitting part 18 or light receiving part 19 of the optical sensor, a cylinder part is arranged to block light between the light emitting part and the light receiving part.
