Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device for a switching power supply control, capable of preventing a switching power supply unit from being destroyed, by stopping switching operations and keeping the stopping conditions if no acquirement of a feedback signal for controlling the switching operations of the switching device causes no flow-out of current from a control terminal. SOLUTION: This semiconductor device includes a control terminal open protective circuit 10, which makes an overvoltage protective circuit 8 operate by raising the voltage of the control terminal 26 to a prescribed voltage value and keeps the stopping condition of switching operations with the overvoltage protective circuit 8.
