Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planetary gear type transmission and a backlash adjusting method therefor in which an appropriate contact surface pressure of a gear surface is obtained without requiring skill, and a burden necessary for adjustment to eliminate a backlash and for maintenance to keep the backlash-zero condition is also reduced. SOLUTION: Energizing force of a tension coil spring 33 is automatically applied to a split inside gear 24B provided on an input shaft 21 side, and the split inside gear 24B is turned in the energizing direction to eliminate a backlash B between the split inside gear 24B and the split planetary gear 2B and a backlash B between the split planetary gear 23B and a sun gear 22.
