Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the connection structure of a recording liquid storing unit and a head chip. SOLUTION: A head chip 15 and a recording liquid storing unit are bonded via a sealing member 20. The head chip 15 includes a channel forming member 6 comprising a recording element substrate 1, a bonding surface 6k and a supply hole 6n. A frame member 16 of the recording liquid storing unit, comprising a single member has a recording liquid storing chamber 17 with the entire surface of one side part provided as an opening part 16e. The shape of the opening part 16e is same as the cross-sectional shape of the recording liquid storing chamber 17. A hole part 20e, circular first surface side ribs 20a, 20b surrounding the same, and second surface side ribs 20c, 20d provided symmetrically with the first surface side ribs 20a, 20b with respect to the plate-like part 20h are formed in a plate-like part 20h of the sealing member 20. The ribs 20a-20d are interposed between both bonding surfaces 6k, 16c so as to be held in a compressed state. A projection 20g provided inside the rib 20d of the plate-like part 20h is fitted to a positioning hole 6j of the bonding surface 6k. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
