Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce recording-failed data by adding relatively simple circuitry without changing the circuitry of a previous stage such as a cylinder or a head amplifier, for data recorded magnetically with a rotary head on a magnetic tape in a state in which a recording track is different in inclination from a normal recording track or in a state in which bending is generated due to failures during writing. SOLUTION: A circuit 104 is provided to restructure frame data by block by lowering a tape traveling speed when continuous failure of recorded data is detected by error detection or the like during reproduction, and data reproduction is carried out by using normal reproducing circuitry.
