Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can perform the acquisition of information relating to the deviation of positions between two CCD line sensors groups and the correction of the deviation of the images in parallel with image reading work. SOLUTION: The image reader 1 has a halogen lamp 2, a beam splitter 6 and a first CCD line sensor group 7 and second CCD line sensor group 8 respectively integrated with a plurality of rows of the CCD line sensors 7 and 8 are irradiates the sensor groups 7 and 8 with the image light obtained by irradiating a film P with the light of the halogen lamp 2 through the beam splitter 6, in which the spectral sensitivity of the one CCD line sensor in the respective sensor groups 7 and 8 is set in the spectral sensitivity equal to each other and the light rays of the wavelength bands corresponding to the set spectral sensitivity are sorted to the sensor groups 7 and 8, respectively, and the sensor groups are irradiated with such light rays.
