Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic imaging system which can sufficiently perform a pseudo color correction or a highly bright coloring prevention even when a combination is different. SOLUTION: A camera with a built-in CCD or an electronic endoscope is selectively connected, and a color separation is performed for an input imaging signal. Then, the pseudo color correction at the edge section is performed by a pseudo color correction circuit 54. In addition, a suppressing level for a chroma signal is changed by a chroma suppressing circuit 59 in response to the characteristics of the CCD and the lamp of a light source device which are actually used, through a CPU 63. Thus, even when a camera head or an electronic endoscope wherein the kind of the CCD is different is selectively connected, the generation of a pseudo color and a highly bright coloring can be prevented from occurring effectively.
