Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a position where abnomality occurs by computing a frictional coefficient μ or distribution of distribution of frictional force along the carrying direction of a conveyor belt to load a carrying article of an air floating type conveyor. SOLUTION: Distribution of weight ρc of the carrying article along the carrying direction of the conveyor belt is detected by a weight detection means, and a load electric current (im) of a motor 2 for driving the conveyor belt is detected by an electric current detection means. When a carrying velocity vc of conveyor belt is constant, the frictional coefficient μ along the carrying direction of the conveyor belt or distribution of the frictional force is computed in accordance with distribution of the weight ρc of the carrying article and passing of time of the load electric current (im). When the conveyor belt frictionally makes contact with a member provided at a fixed position and the frictional coefficient μ or the frictional force increases, its abnormal position is detected.
