Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle detection device that surely detects a tow vehicle by preventing an erroneous detection of the tow vehicle by vehicle detection means. SOLUTION: The vehicle detection device is provided with a multiple optical axis sensor 12 for detecting a vehicle, and a detection deciding processing part 25 for calculating length of a vehicle based on detection information from the multiple optical axis sensor 12 and for prolonging detection time of the multiple optical axis sensor 12 based on calculation result of the vehicle length. The device is further provided with a multiple optical axis sensor 13 in addition to the multiple optical axis sensor 12 arranged on the backside of a plurality of multiple optical axis sensors arranged on ETC in a vehicle traveling direction.
