PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength detection device or the like capable of calcu lating the wavelength of measuring object light. SOLUTION: This detection device is equipped with an image sensor 13 having a plurality of channels for receiving the measuring object light passing through an etalon 6 and outputting a detection signal corresponding to its intensity, a calculation circuit 30 of a peak approximate value or the like including a dual port memory 43 for receiving and storing the detection signal, for calculating the peak approximate value or the like necessary for calculating the wavelength of the measuring object light by performing prescribed signal processing to the detection signal in parallel with storage of the detection signal in the dual port memory 43, a flash memory 33 for storing a program for calculating the wavelength of the measuring object light, and a CPU 32 for calculating the wavelength of the measuring object light based on the detection signal stored in the dual port memory 43 and the peak approximate value or the like calculated by the calculation circuit 30 of the peak approximate value or the like by executing the program stored in the flash memory 33.
