Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheath-core type conjugated fiber excellent in amenity, warmth retaining property and feeling of lightness in weight, with a peculiar texture manifesting soft (comfortable) and mellow feeling. SOLUTION: The sheath-core type conjugated fiber comprises at least two components, a core component A including inert particles in a polyester obtained by copolymerizing comonomers and a sheath component B including the inert particles in polyhexamethylene adipamide obtained by copolymerizing 0.01-10 wt.% of a lactam, and the contents of the inert particles and ratio of contents in both A and B and physical properties of the fiber satisfy following conditions (1) to (7): (1) A/B=0.1-10.0, (2) A+B=0.05-5 wt.%, (3) fineness 0.9-11.0 dtex, (4) number of crimps 5-25 peaks/25 mm, (5) rate of crimp 5-30%, (6) dry tenacity 0.5-10.0 cN/dtex, (7) dry elongation 5-100%.
