Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoide a risk such as break of a driving shaft even if a rotor is rotated in excessively unbalanced state and assure safety. SOLUTION: The centrifuge comprises a rotor 13 into which samples are inserted and which is attached to the tip of a driving shaft (a flexible shaft) 12 joined to a rotary shaft 11a of a motor 11 and in the centrifuge, a cylindrical body 21 is installed so as to surround the driving shaft 12 at a prescribed distance and a vibration detector 12 for detecting the impact of collision of the driving shaft 12 against the cylindrical body 21 owing to excess vibration is attached to the cylindrical body 21 and a means for stopping the rotation of the motor 11 based on the output of the vibration detector 23 is installed.
