Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a search range by effectively using analogy of index systems establishing the hierarchical relationship to enhance a search range, and enhance search efficiency and search precision. SOLUTION: Two index systems, 1A, 1B are given so that index information thereof establishes the hierarchical relationship having a tree structure or network structure, and an integrated index system 1C is constructed by mutually associating both the index systems 1A, 1B with each other on the basis of analogy of the hierarchical relationship of index information therebetween. By presenting the integrated index system 1C, a document corresponding to index information collated with an input search key word can be searched from the integrated index system 1C.
