SOLUTION: An electric-discharge lamp lighting device provides a latch section 3 which fixes an output signal corresponding to an input signal, a driver section 4 which amplifies the output signal of the latch section 3, and a supply control section 2 which makes on or off the power supply to the driver section 4 from a power source circuit 200 via a power supply section 1 in response to the input signal to the latch section 3.
