Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate the fail of a position sensor and the misoperation of a manual release mechanism. SOLUTION: This device has a selector valve 2 for switching a shift range of an automatic transmission, a selector valve control means for positioning the selector valve 2 at a shift position instructed by a shift lever 25, the manual release mechanism 60 capable of manually operating the selector valve 2 from a parking range to the other shift range, the position sensor 21 for detecting the position of the selector valve 2, a fail/misoperation decision means for deciding whether the position sensor fails or the manual release mechanism is operated, and an operation inhibition means capable of inhibiting the operation of the manual release mechanism when the manual release mechanism is decided to be operated by the fail/misoperation decision means. The fail of the position sensor and the misoperation of the manual release mechanism can be accurately discriminated and subsequent control can be properly performed. |
