Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow exposure at any imaging timing, and to obtain signals of a subject by high speed response. SOLUTION: A one-frame delay memory 120, a differentiator 121, a reference value generating circuit 110, and a comparator 109 are provided as means to detect the beginning and the end of radiation of X-ray from an X-ray source 101 based on signals obtained by nondestructive readout from an X-ray imaging panel 105. The difference between the signals in a frame and those in the next frame obtained by nondestructive readout is found, and the differential signals and the reference value are compared. The beginning and/or the end of irradiation with X-ray is detected by the result obtained by the comparison.
