Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at improvement at low cost of fuel utilization rate of a fuel cell system and at improvement of efficiency of the system as a whole. SOLUTION: With the fuel cell system provided with a first fuel cell 1-1 generating power with the supply of first fuel gas and first oxidizing gas, and second fuel cells 1-2/1-3 generating power with the supply of first used fuel gas delivered from the first fuel cell, second fuel gas and second oxidizing gas, the volume of the second fuel gas is determined based on the volume of vapor contained in the first used fuel gas.
