Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal film made to be a thin film without a supporting substrate film which satisfies mechanical strength required in manufacturing and excellent release property and facilitates optical inspection of defect. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal substance layer with fixed liquid crystal alignment on an alignment substrate is made to stick to a releasable substrate composed of a uniaxial stretched polyester film via an adhesive. Subsequently the liquid crystal substance layer is transferred to the releasable substrate by releasing the alignment substrate and subsequently the liquid crystal film is manufactured by releasing the releasable substrate therefrom.
