Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proxy device capable of reducing a load for a network. SOLUTION: When a reply data of a new content is transferred from a server side proxy 30 to a client side proxy 40, and the data is divided in the server side proxy 30, respective divided data are made to correspond to finger- prints (FP) calculated by applying a hash function to the respective divided data, to be registered in an FP cache. When a reply data having an FP of which the one portion is different from the FP registered in the FP cache, the data is transferred only in the portion different in the FP is transmitted, and the FP is transferred in stead of the reply data as to the same portion.
